Angela Merkel and Emmanuel Macron says about Champions League final. Paris Saint-Germain will face Bayern Munich tonight for European glory.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel admitted on Thursday that her friendship with French President Emmanuel Macron is not in danger regardless of the outcome of the Champions League final between Bayern Munich and the Paris Saint-Germain.
“Our friendship will support the fact that each one supports a different team. May the best one win,” she told Macron.
The meeting had on its agenda the main international crises, from the situation in Belarus to the Libyan conflict or the crisis in the eastern Mediterranean, but made room to also talk about Sunday’s game, which will face Bayern Munich against Paris in Lisbon Saint-Germain (PSG).
Macron underlined his good bilateral relationship with the German head of government, and insisted that this same cordiality would prevail in his discussion about the Champions League final, “which each one will watch in front of their television.”
