Juventus terminate Gonzalo Higuain contract and eye up Olivier Giroud. They will only announce it when he is ready to sign for new club.
Multiple reports state Gonzalo Higuain has terminated his contract with Juventus, but it will only be made official once he signs for Inter Miami.
The 32-year-old is not part of new coach Andrea Pirlo’s plans and acknowledged the need to leave as a free agent with one year left to run on his contract, rather than try to negotiate a transfer fee.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Tuttosport and others, that deal has now been reached. He will receive just under 50 per cent of the salary he would’ve had in the final season of his contract, which will come out to circa €4m.
While Juventus wait for Luis Suarez to terminate his Barcelona contract and get an Italian passport, they turn to Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud.
Sky Sport Italia point out a new option is Giroud, who had already been linked with Juventus, Roma and Inter last summer when his contract with Chelsea was running down.
Chelsea want €5m to sell Giroud, while the striker would accept a two-year contract worth €4.5m per season.
