Although his contract was initially due to expire at the end of June. The Spaniard has agreed to stay past that date in order to complete the campaign following the coronavirus-induced suspension.
Although he won’t get the goodbye he deserves. It’s unlikely that fans will be able to return to stadiums any time soon. That hasn’t changed Silva’s mind on his departure.
The Blues’ captain has been linked with moves to Italian giants AC Milan, a final swansong in his native Spain and a switch to David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
A reunion with former international teammate Xavi, who manages Qatari side Al Sadd, has also appeared in the media. But, according to Mundo Deportivo, he will join their rivals Al-Duhail instead.
Al-Duhail have former Juventus duo Medhi Benatia and Mario Mandzukic in their side. The Spanish outlet claimed that ‘everything indicates’ towards Silva joining them.
