Chinese forward Wu Lei is in negotiations with Wolves. Espanyol forward Wu Lei is negotiating a potential move to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Chinese Player of the Year has a contract with Espanyol until December 31, 2020, and his intention was to remain at the club, regardless of whether Los Periquitos manage to remain in La Liga Santander or if they are relegated to La Liga SmartBank.
Wu Lei’s priority is to give his all in the remainder of this campaign so that Espanyol can remain in the Spanish top flight, with the Catalan side currently six points from safety with 11 matches to go in La Liga Santander.
Espanyol paid two million euros to buy Wu Lei from Shanghai SIPG in January 2019 and his arrival has allowed the club to grow substantially in China, while La Liga have also benefited from this growth in the Asian market.
