Chelsea set to give Timo Werner his favourite shirt number. The RB Leipzig striker officially completed his move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea confirmed that the Germany international will be arriving at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season after agreeing a £53 million deal with the Bundesliga club.
Werner, who has scored 32 goals in 43 appearances for RB Leipzig this season, has signed a five-year deal worth just over £170,000 a week.
The 24-year-old has not yet been assigned a squad number. But according to the Daily Telegraph, the striker has his eye on the No.11 jersey.
Werner has worn that number at Leipzig for the past four years and will keep it once he makes the move to Chelsea.
Pedro is Chelsea’s current No.11. However, he is set to vacate it once he leaves Stamford Bridge to join Roma this summer.
The Spaniard has already agreed a pre-contract with the Serie A club. And there are now doubts over whether he will play any part in the remainder of Chelsea’s campaign.
