Lille stays top of Ligue 1 table after drawing 0-0 with Paris Saint-Germain. The ones who benefit most from the result are Lyon.

Lille OSC remain top of the Ligue 1 table after a goalless draw with Paris Saint-Germain at Stade Pierre Mauroy on Sunday.

Both sides had chances, but neither were able to make the breakthrough with Presnel Kimpembe and Mike Maignan making big interventions to keep the score level.

Just a single point separates Lille, Olympique Lyonnais and PSG with LOSC and OL one point better off than Thomas Tuchel’s men and then Olympique de Marseille four points further back.

The ones who benefit most from the result are Lyon as they remain second and level on points with leaders Lille.

On top of that, Rudi Garcia’s men are the form team in Ligue 1 after their 4-1 win away at Nice on Saturday. OL and PSG face easier fixtures before the winter break so LOSC could be made to pay for not putting the champions away.

Thomas Meunier, Thomas Delaney back in Borussia Dortmund squad. Reinier, Felix Passlack miss Union Berlin trip.

Thomas Meunier and Thomas Delaney have traveled with the Borussia Dortmund squad for Friday’s game against Union Berlin, but Felix Passlack and Reinier Jesus have missed the trip.

Dortmund play their final Bundesliga game of the calendar year on Friday, as they take on Union Berlin.

The Black and Yellows made the trip to the German capital on Thursday afternoon, and head coach Edin Terzic will be able to call upon Thomas Meunier and Thomas Delaney for the game after the duo travelled with the squad.

Meunier has been out since the end of November with a torn muscle fibre. While Delaney has been struggling with a back injury, and has missed the last four games.

Now both players are back to full fitness in what will be a big boost for Borussia Dortmund.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Reinier Jesus and Felix Passlack did not make the trip to Berlin.

It is unclear why the two are missing from the squad. Reinier was an unused substitute in the game against Werder Bremen on Tuesday, while Felix Passlack did not make the bench.

Dortmund will also be without Erling Haaland (torn muscle fibre), Thorgan Hazard (muscle injury), and Marcel Schmelzer (rehab after knee operation).

Borussia Dortmund go into the game in fourth place in the Bundesliga standings, while Union Berlin are four points behind with 18 points to their name after 12 games.

The last time these two sides faced off was back in February, when Dortmund enjoyed a 5-0 win.

PSG boss Thomas Tuchel provides update on Neymar horror injury. The Brazilian star appeared to be in agony.

Neymar will have tests on Monday on the suspected broken ankle he suffered during’s Paris-Saint Germain’s defeat to Lyon on Sunday.

The Brazilian star left the pitch in tears as he was stretchered off in the dying moments of the Ligue 1 clash at the Parc des Princes.

He suffered what looked like a serious ankle injury following a late challenge from Thiago Mendes, with videos appearing to show the joint could be broken.

PSG now face an anxious wait to discover how serious the injury is, and how long the 28-year-old forward will be out of action.

Boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed afterwards that Neymar would have tests on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.

“He’s with the physio and the doctors and we have to wait for the tests tomorrow (Monday),” Tuchel told French broadcaster Telefoot .

Neymar suffers ankle injury as Paris Saint-Germain lose to Lyon. PSG drop down to third in the Ligue 1 standings following the loss.

Neymar appeared to be in tears as left the field on a stretcher after suffering an injury in Paris Saint-Germain‘s 1-0 loss to Lyon on Sunday night.

Neymar was carried off the pitch seven minutes into stoppage time with a possible ankle injury following a poor tackle from Thiago Mendes.

PSG have not confirmed the extent of the Brazil international’s injury.

It is not the first injury for Neymar since signing for PSG. The 28-year-old has fractured his metatarsal twice since arriving in August 2017, and missed the 2019 Copa America after rupturing his ankle ligaments.

Mendes was sent off for the challenge but it did not affect the result as PSG dropped down to third in Ligue 1 after Tino Kadewere’s goal earned the visitors victory.

The French champions were never in the mix as they surrendered top spot in Ligue 1 to Lille, who claimed a 2-1 win at home against Girondins de Bordeaux earlier.

Lille have 29 points from 14 games, leading second-placed Lyon on goal difference with PSG on 28 points after their fourth defeat of the season.

Olympique de Marseille are fourth on 27 points with two games in hand, in a tight top five separated by three points.
