Uli Hoeneß slams David Alaba agent a money-grabbing piranha. “Everyone wants him to stay, but he has a money-grabbing piranha as his agent.”

David Alaba’s agent has been labelled a “money-grabbing piranha” by former Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness. The Austrian is in the midst of negotiating a new contract with the European Champions.

Alaba, who has been at the Allianz Arena for the entirety of his career, earns up to €16m a year at Bayern. But the player’s entourage, led by agent Pini Zahavi, are seeking a five-year deal worth €125m, according to Kicker.

Hoeness, who has now left his post in Munich, is less than impressed with the player’s team influencing proceedings.

“Alaba is a very good player and [head coach] Hansi Flick wants him to stay by all means,” he said

“Everyone wants him to stay, but he has a money-grabbing piranha as his agent. And Alaba’s father, who I rate very much, lets himself be influenced by him. I hope that David will come out on top at the end.

“It’s only about the money. He’s already at the best club in the world, where else should he go? It’s his decision, in the end.

“He’s 28 and should not let himself be influenced from the outside.”
