Neymar confirms staying at Paris Saint-Germain next season. He was left in tears after PSG’s defeat in the Champions League final.

Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has confirmed that he will be staying at the club next season.

Brazilian forward was left in tears after the Ligue 1 champions were defeated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in Lisbon earlier this month.

The 28-year-old was also heavily linked with a move back to former club Barcelona before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

But Neymar has now put any suggestion that he could leave PSG after their European heartbreak to bed and also told the club’s official magazine he would like to go one better in this season’s Champions League and become a legend at the club.

‘I’m staying at PSG next season! And with the ambition to return to the Champions League final, this time to win it,’ he said.

‘I like the idea of doing everything to leave my name in the history books of my club.’

Robert Lewandowski insists carry on top level until 40. The 32-year-old Poland international still has three years left on his current deal.

Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski has claimed he could extend his playing career to his 40th birthday.

The 32-year-old was in prolific form in 2019-20, notching 55 goals in the season as the Bundesliga side went on to claim the Treble, which included a first Champions League title for the Poland international.

He still has three years left on his contract at the Allianz Arena, but has insisted his current deal will not be his last and has backed himself to lengthen his career.

When asked if he could play for another decade, Lewandowski told Sky Sport Germany: ‘Ten years? Maybe eight.

‘The current contract is not my last. I want to play longer. And I want to achieve even more, my colleagues in Munich think the same way.’

Lewandowski also admitted ending his career with the Bundesliga champions is ‘an option of course’ but insists he has not given too much thought to the twilight of his career.

Italy international Ciro Immobile has officially signed a new deal with Lazio until 2025.

The Biancocelesti announced the new contract with last season’s Capocannoniere, as communications director Stefano De Martino revealed a new five-year deal to Lazio Style Channel.

“The news today is that Ciro Immobile has committed to Lazio for another five years, until 2025,” he said. “It’s a professional, heartfelt and familiar choice.

“Immobile opted for Lazio for life. He’s a professional who always wants to improve and certainly wants to raise the bar regarding his personal goals.”

He scored 36 goals in 37 Serie A games last season and 125 in 178 games for Lazio since his move to the Olimpico in July 2016. La Gazzetta dello Sport reveals he will earn €4m a season.

Fernandez said in a message directed at Messi: “You are in our hearts and we have never seen you play in our country.

AC Milan agree €30m deal for Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali. Brescia had wanted the option to buy to be an obligation, but Milan negotiated it down.

Milan have agreed every detail of the transfer for Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali, on loan with option to buy for a total €30m.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the deal was reached this evening between director of sport Paolo Maldini and Brescia President Massimo Cellino. It’ll be a loan for €10m, with option to buy for another €20m including various bonuses.

That is less than the €35m in total that Inter had negotiated back in April.

According to Calciomercato.com, it’s €10m for the loan, €15m option to buy, €10m in bonuses and 10 per cent of a future sale.

Tonali will sign a five-year contract worth an initial €2m per season and join the club he supported since childhood.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the meeting between Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and Leo Messi’s father, Jorge Messi, is likely to take place this coming Wednesday.

Although the situation between player and club is extremely tense, after Messi told the club he was unilaterally breaking his contract and then refused to attend his Covid-19 test on Sunday morning, Bartomeu and Jorge Messi have stayed in touch by telephone, and have agreed to meet to try and reach an agreement over the future of the player.

However Bartomeu does not want to contemplate Messi’s departure from the club and is willing to stick rigidly to the 700 million euro buy-out clause on the grounds Barcelona are convinced Messi was not to able to unilaterally break his contract.

Messi and his legal team consider there is no buy-out clause as the player was able to break the contract. Barcelona’s position appeared to be strengthened on Sunday when LaLiga backed their stance and said the contract was still in force along with the buy-out clause.

La Liga side with Barcelona and insist Lionel Messi still under contract. They won’t release the player from his contract to comply with those rules.

LaLiga have released an official statement on Lionel Messi’s contract situation with FC Barcelona.

The league have sided with Barça and claim that, according to them, Messi remains under contract and can only be freed from the said deal if someone deposits the €700m buyout clause.

This is LaLiga’s statement:

“In relation to the different interpretations printed over the last few days across various media platforms in regards to Lionel Andres Messi’s contractual situation at FC Barcelona, LaLiga would like to clarify their position after reviewing the contract:

1) The contract is currently in vigour and has a buyout clause applicable should Lionel Andres Messi decide to end his association with the club ahead of time, as related to Article 16 of the Real Decreto 1006/1985, which was created to regulate the working conditions of professional athletes.

2) In order to comply with those rules, LaLiga won’t release the player from his contract if the previously mentioned clause isn’t paid.
