Barca reject bid for Ansu Fati. President Josep Maria Bartomeu said ‘no’ to €100 million bid.

There was a meeting on Thursday. Barcelona’s hierarchy were all present such as the sporting director, the CEO, the president, directors so there were around 15 people on the screen.

Possible signings and sales were discussed and then it was revealed that the club had received an offer of 100 million euros for Ansu Fati.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu, seeing the faces of his colleagues and to avoid misinterpretations said in a very firm manner: ‘Ansu Fati is not for sale. We don’t talk of that anymore.’ And Ansu wasn’t spoken of again.

There is unease among the board about how the club will balance the accounts. Among other reasons, because this year they had predicted 124 million euros of income from sales.

However, they still need to bring in another 69 million to balance the books. That number seemed possible before COVID-19 but now it’s complicated.
